"This year's International Women's Day - March 8th - is making a call to action for the acceleration of gender equality. Social, economic, and cultural achievements of women are not only recognized, but globally celebrated, in hopes to also foster the growth of blossoming young minds.
International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in
1911 supported by over a million people. In 2019 we hope to continue the tradition, which is why we invite you to join our celebration on March 8th.
Join us at 5 PM at the Jagiellonian University, at the Auditorium Maximum in the Seminar Room
(Krupnicza 33, 31-123, Krakow, Poland) accompanied by members of the Association of International
and Area Studies.
Our event includes an array of interactive activities from both students and professors.
A celebration in Poland is never complete without a trip to the local pub; which is why we invite you to join together, after the event, for time to reflect and celebrate.
We are looking forward to sharing great conversations and celebrating a day in honor of where we all
began. Happy International Women's Day!
