Between the 9th of May and 7th June, IRAS is pleased to announce we are running a special Joint Summer Programme with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, entitled: Global Challenges to Democracy and Security. Under the auspices of Professor Patrice McMahon, the intensive class emphasises various challenges facing countries historically and today, with a focus on how Poland and countries in Central Europe have addressed these issues. Topics are organized around: historical threats to democracy and security (Poland/Central Europe and WWII); the communist experience; and contemporary threats at home and abroad.
